NOTE: In real life I think the pink stripes are much more pale and subtle. They seem to photograph a little deeper in hue.

Vintage dresser from 2 French Hens in Charlottesville, VA. Crystal Column Lamps on dresser from Williams and Sherrill. Antique shaving mirror on dresser from an antique auction in Virginia. It was black and filthy but the price was right! Teas sets from Strasburg Children and Southern Living at Home. Monogrammed Nantucket Basket from Kate Landers.

My sweet, sweet husband Dave did ALL of the painting and hung everything on the walls. If you ever do stripes, we highly recommend "frog tape." It leaves super crisp lines. There was no bleeding at all. After many many color changes and all of his hard work, Kate told us she did not like the stripes and wanted her room gray again. Needles to say, she has come around:)

Here are two short interviews with Kate. In the first, she is pretending to be a silly robot (par for the course). In the second she is a little more herself:)

The paint colors are Benjamin Moore (Eco Spec Paint no VOC) in Chantilly Lace and Powder Pink. The framed botanicals above the bed are from MacGregor Antiques in Charlottesville VA.

  5. Oh my goodness I love the new room! It looks so pretty and girly and perfect for little Miss Kate! She is so funny, I was cracking up watching the first video. I love her little voice :) And when she said that her favorite thing in the room was her baby picture, melted my heart! Your hubby did a beautiful job with the stripes! Happy Sunday, lady!

  9. the tea sets are beautiful! I also love the display of artwork. We have something similar, just have never hung it up! I LOVE the transformation with the BED SKIRT! Who knew it could make such a profound difference!

    Dave did an excellent job! My husband is my "painter" & "hanger" too - jobs I know aren't his favorite!

    Ahh, what we don't all do for the sake of love!

    On a side note, Ruby and I met our little Chloe this weekend...and may I tell you....she has me completely wrapped around her little finger...she is so precious!

  14. It is PERFECT!! so sweet so Kate. I am convinced after seeing the precious bedskirt that I got a dud. I think the pink is fabulous, not peachy brown like the one I was sent a year ago, hum? Kate's Princess room could be in a magazine. Thanks for the frog tape hint. Dave did a great job, take another bow. When are you coming to Charleston to help me with decorating?

  43. I love Ms Kate room!! I loved the bedding, furniture, the stripes, but by far the pics of Kate, her tutu's and her artwork just put it over the top and added that SPECIAL touch. It let's you know that while VERY beautiful it's also inhabited by a little girl!! Love it!! I'm sure this room will be her little haven for years to come! Thank you so much for sharing all your "secrets" and wonderful "finds"!
